About Us

Creative Director

Charles Dong

Charles is an award-winning director, based in Los Angeles. He received his BFA in Film & TV Production at the NYU, Tisch School of the Arts. He accepted a directing fellowship at American Film Institute. His films screened at numerous film festivals. Namely, After Class: Santa Barbara, Oberhausen, and Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia: winning Best Short Award. Langue: Palm Springs International Shortfest. His documentary film, Anshan Diaries was in the finalists for the 48th annual Student Academy Awards and the 58th Golden Horse Awards and premiered at the 65th San Fransisco International Film festival.

Creative Producer

Suki Li

Suki Li attended the American Film Institute Conservatory. She received her Bachelor's degree from Syracuse University, majoring in Art History and Applied Mathematics. She started her journey in filmmaking as a writer and producer. One of the documentaries she produced, Anshan Diaries, was selected by San Francisco International Film Festival, and Student Academy Award. It was also premiered at New Era Film Festival and screened at the Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing. One of the narrative shorts she produced, No Fish in the Water, was invited to premiere at the Syracuse International Film Festival.

Director of Photography

Stefan Nachmann

Stefan is an award-wining Director of Photography from Germany. His international work ranges from music videos and commercials to narrative films and documentaries, always captured with a careful attention to the subjects’ humanity and an intercultural perspective. Stefan’s European background informs his multicultural cinematic sensibility—he enjoys working on projects from a variety of cultures.

He was the 2020 recipient of the ARRI Volker Bahnemann Award for Outstanding Cinematography.

Director of Photography

John Zeng

John Zeng is a NYC based Chinese Canadian Cinematographer. He enjoys expressing emotion in music video and commercial projects through dynamic lighting and camera movement.

Editor

Bowei Yue

Bowei Yue graduated from AFI in 2018. Over the past 4 years, he has worked closely with award-winning directors and edited many films and commercials. His feature, TO US, FROM US, was released in China in 2018 and has over 23 million views online. His short, BALLOON, was screened at film festivals all over the world, including AFI FEST, New Orleans Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival, Palm Springs Shortfest and it’s a finalist of 2019 Student Academy Awards.

Composer

Alex Symcox

Alex Symcox is a British composer based in the US. As a media composer, he has scored for over 30 films over the last 5 years. Alex trained at the Royal College of Music (UK), The Royal Northern College of Music & New York University. His work includes ‘Greenland Melting’ which premiered at the International Venice Film Festival. ‘Wonder’, currently available on HBO MAX, won awards at OutFest, Pan African Film Festival, HBO Best Short Film. Alex’s soundtrack for ‘Curandera’ won the ‘Peer Raben Award’ for best music at Soundtrack Cologne. Alex has written additional music for the Netflix documentary series ‘Explained’, as well having music licensed to shows on networks such as ABC, NBC, PBS.
